Emmy Winner Anthony Hemingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) directed the pilot and will executive produce the series, along with Mark Taylor through their Hemingway | Taylor production company. Kyle Long (Suits) wrote the pilot and will also executive produce. Kading, who will also serve as co-executive producer,

led multiple law-enforcement task forces investigating the murders and authored the book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. The first episode of Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. will air on Tuesday, February 27 at 10 PM EST.

On March 9, 1997, at 12:30 a.m. (PST), Wallace left with his entourage in two GMC Yukons to return to his hotel after the Fire Department closed the party early due to overcrowding.[60] Wallace traveled in the front passenger seat alongside his associates, Damion "D-Roc" Butler, Junior M.A.F.I.A. member Lil' Cease and driver, Gregory "G-Money" Young. Combs traveled in the other vehicle with three bodyguards. The two trucks were trailed by a Chevrolet Blazer carrying Bad Boy's director of security.By 12:45 a.m. (PST), the streets were crowded with people leaving the event. Wallace's truck stopped at a red light 50 yards (46 m) from the museum. A black Chevy Impala pulled up alongside Wallace's truck. The driver of the Impala, an African-American male dressed in a blue suit and bow tie, rolled down his window, drew a 9 mm blue-steel pistol and fired at the GMC Suburban; four bullets hit Wallace in the chest.Wallace's entourage rushed him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m the murderer has not been captured.

On September 7, 1996 At 11:00–11:05 p.m. in Las Vegas 2 Pac & Suge Knight were halted on Las Vegas Boulevard by Metro bicycle police for playing the car stereo too loudly and not having license plates, which were found in the trunk of Knight's car; the party was released a few minutes later without being ticketed. At 11:10 p.m. , while they were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in front of the Maxim Hotel, a vehicle occupied by two women pulled up on their left side. Shakur, who was standing up through the sunroof, exchanged words with the women and invited them to Club 662. At 11:15 p.m. (PDT), a white, four-door, late-model Cadillac with unknown occupants pulled up to the sedan's right side. Someone inside rolled down a window and rapidly fired gunshots at Shakur. He was hit four times, twice in the chest, once in the arm, and once in the thigh.One of the bullets went into Shakur's right lung. Knight was hit in the head by fragmentation.

Days later At the hospital, Shakur was heavily sedated, was placed on life-support machines, and was ultimately put under a barbiturate-induced coma after repeatedly trying to get out of the bed. While in the intensive-care unit, on the afternoon of September 13, 1996, Shakur died from internal bleeding; doctors attempted to revive him but could not stop the hemorrhaging. His mother, Afeni, made the decision to tell the doctors to stop. He was pronounced dead at 4:03 p.m. .The official causes of death were noted as respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest in connection with multiple gunshot wounds.Shakur's body was cremated the next day. Some of his ashes were purportedly later mixed with marijuana and smoked by members of the Outlawz. However, E.D.I. Mean claimed in an interview in 2014 that, despite his belief at the time that the ashes were those of Shakur, he later found that the ashes did not belong to Shakur, which has led some people to believe that Shakur didn't die at all.

In both cases the killers of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac have not been caught. Many questions have been left open to the public and many believe that it was the people close to them that did this, while others believe it was set up to be a be scandal to shut down the Hip Hop moguls. People til this day still believe Tupac is alive with many speculations about his death and numerous musical releases after he passed away, fans hold unto he fact that the case is unsolved and he could still be out there afraid for his life.
