Over $10,000,000 of Fentanyl is found inside Fish Filets with Chilli.
Fentanyl, also known as fentanil, is an opioid which is used as a pain medication and together with other medications for anesthesia. It is highly used within Heroin users and is become one of the worst epidemics within the US. NYPD Detectives have arrested Johnny De Los Santos-Martinez was arrested after Police were following him in a suspicious vehicle driving around the city and as part of a drug trafficking investigation. They received a warrant for his vehicle and that's when they noticed some packages in the back of his car. Upon investigating they found the deadly drug Fentanyl packaged inside some Fish Filets. There were also other kilos that were found underneath some Chilli he had also. If convicted De Los Santos will be facing up to 20 to 50 years in Prison as well as thousands of dollars in fines for the distribution of such a deadly drug. The drug was found in the system of legendary singer Prince and Tom Petty after their deaths and has become a worldwide epidemic.
In December 2007, as part of this continuing investigation, the FDA issued a second Public Health Advisory stating, "The FDA has continued to receive reports of deaths and life-threatening side effects in patients who use the fentanyl or the fentanyl patch. In addition, the reports indicate that patients are continuing to incorrectly using the drug and are overdosing or mentally instable for the rest of their lives. Fentanyl analogues may be hundreds of times more potent than street heroin, and tend to produce significantly more respiratory depression, making it much more dangerous than heroin to users. Fentanyl is used orally, smoked, snorted, or injected. The drug is sometimes sold as heroin or oxycodone, often leading to overdoses as people don't know what they are buying since it's a mixture. Many fentanyl overdoses are initially classified as heroin overdoses even though they are not.
